CORUM X 2023 World Water Day & Earth Hour 60+
2023-03-22

In recent years, global warming and climate change have affected the water resources with serious problems, such as converting precipitation patterns and desertification. Since 2000, floods have increased by 134% with the duration of droughts increasing by 29%. [1]

Nowadays, around half of the world’s population is already at risk of severe water scarcity. In February 2023, Venice, known as the "City of Water", has faced a drought because of the snow and rain cover in the Alps were declining. Boats were docked along the dried canal during a low tide in Venice. Similar drought problems are happening in other places like some local reservoirs in Catalonia, Spain. [2],[3]

In order to implement the awareness of environmental protection and strengthen people's actions with sense of responsibility for protecting the world, Corum conducts advocacy of environmental issues and responses to initiatives.

Corum is committed to participate with【World Water Day】to promote the management of water resources, and emphasize the importance of water to human life and development. We also continuously join【Earth Hour 60+】to make people conscious about turning off the lights while leaving to save more energy. Let’s do our best for the sustainability of the earth and together make the world a better place.
