The award ceremony of 2021 CORUM Art Promotion Award “Art in SCIENCE” Painting Competition was held on December 17th in Xin Chuan Second-hand Bookstore Minxiong branch. Dozens of small artists who stood out from the total 69 works in Chiayi were commended. The theme “The Importance of Cleaning in Epidemic Prevention” is set to be relative to the current COVID-19 issue of global concern. Everyone gets a prize for entering the competition. Each little contestant received a Fées Skin Repair Hand Sanitizer sponsored by CORUM and an award certificate recognizing their participation. First-, second- and third-place winners received an additional scholarship to celebrate their achievements.
One of the members of the judging panel, Mr. An-Lai Lu, Chief Director of Kids Art Education Academy, ROC said in his speech that it can be seen that the contestants this year have not received formal training in art. Their imagination and creativity about fighting COVID-19 shows their childhood innocence, making this competition a precious and special event.
“I am deeply touched by every piece of artwork. I hope all the children who won the prize will cherish this recognition and continue to work hard to achieve their future goals.” Said Mr. James Lee, Vice President of CORUM. He was also impressed by the free educational resources provided to the students by Xin Chuan Second-hand Bookstore. There are many professional books in the collection that have been selected as university textbooks. He firmly believes that if such rich educational resources can be used for students, they will be able to help them greatly in the future.
First Place, Grades 7-9 Group - Lai, Xiang-Jun, Chiayi County Shuishang Junior High School
Mr. Jin-Shan Huang, the founder of Xin Chuan Second-hand Bookstore, expressed his appreciation to CORUM for establishing CORUM Art Promotion Award, and commented that having an expert panel of judges assessed the entries for the painting competition is of great significance to the students of the bookstore. The future era depends on knowledge and creativity, and the paints on the canvas is the accumulation of knowledge.
Second Place, Audience Choice Award, Grades 5-6 Group - Lee, Yu-Chen, Dong Rong Elementary School
The mission of CORUM Art Promotion Award is to induce children's learning interests in science by encouraging their expression, imagination and creativity in art. CORUM commits that the painting competition will continue to be held in 2022. In the future, we will also consider expanding enrollment, continue making contribution to the local community and stay true to our vision of promoting science education and inspiring children's creativity.
